Framer's Market History

What is the Framer's Market?
Framer's Market is a full-service framing shop that has been designing custom frames and enhancing art since 1981. Their building is located at 807 West Springfield Avenue in Champaign and houses both a frame shop and art gallery. The frame shop's main focus is creating the highest quality custom framing available for individuals and commercial accounts. Over the past several years, owner Rob DeLong (shown above) and his talented staff have also developed a fine art gallery that features and represents a nice selection of extremely talented local artists.

The frame moulding selection offered by the Framer's Market is unmatched by any shop in downstate Illinois. Mouldings offered range from $7.00 to $200.00 per foot. Hand carved wood and Italian gold and silver leaf mouldings are just a few of the vast finishes offered at Framer's Market. Matting selections range from acid-free museum mats, linens and suede to fine oriental silks. Glazing options include premium clear glass, conservation glass, reflection control available in regular and UV coatings, plexiglass and anti-reflective museum glass are also available.

What else should I expect to find at the Framer's Market?
When you come to Framer's Market, you get the benefit of more than 70 years combined experience framing everything from art prints to baptismal gowns. For the frame designers at Framer's Market, custom framing is a career, not a part-time job. At Framer's Market, we see your framing project as a work of art. You'll get only the highest quality frames and the most enduring mats, glass and mounting materials. With the tens of thousands of items we've framed, we've never had a customer leave unsatisfied. And we promise, you won't either.

 As owner Rob DeLong says:

"Art is meant to be enjoyed .
Whether it's an original oil painting by your favorite artist,
or a picture your child drew in second grade.
If it's something you're going to want to look at for years to come,
we want it to be something that makes you smile."

Sounds great! What should I do first?
When you bring in your artwork or object to be framed, we'll put our design experience to work for you and create a "work of art" you'll be proud to display Do you have an idea of what you want, but not a clear vision of your finished piece? Maybe it's just a color, a texture, or even a feeling. Bring us your thoughts, your fabrics, your paint chips, or even a throw pillow. . Store hours are Tuesday through Friday 9:30-5:30 and Saturday 10:00-4:00. Appointments after hours, at your home or at your business can also be arranged.
